Weekly Homework |
Homework is assigned every Friday, and due the following Friday so that students have a full week to complete it. I check agendas once on Fridays only. Since our homework is assigned on a weekly basis, I only fill out planners once for the week, and then you only have to sign once as well in the planner and once on the homework log sheet in the folder. This year, your child will be challenged to read 40 books! Yes, 40!! In order to have success with this goal, your child should be reading nightly. Twenty minutes is a suggested amount of time. Each week in class, your child will log the books they finish and write a letter to me about what they are reading in their online reading journal. This will be stored on their Google drive (in Google Classroom) and can be done at home if needed. Inside their Homework folder is a paper reading log to keep track as well. When they fill up one, I can put in a new one. Students should also be practicing math facts through timed drills, games, apps on your device at home, or by using ST Math. Memorization of multiplication facts only makes math this year easier, so please make sure your child is practicing. Your child can access the following reading and math websites from home for extra practice (highly recommended). www.stmath.com www.lexiacore5.com |
